Guests at Red Cross Canteen Night
returned to the romance of the 1940's as they
danced to live music by swing favorites Eight to the Bar, and enjoyed
drinks from a specialty martini bar donated by Black Bear Wines &
Spirits. The event, a benefit for Westport Historical Society and
The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of The Red Cross, was held on the
grounds of the Society and on Veterans Green under the stars on a
perfect summer evening.

Pictured savoring the
special evening are (l to r):
Mid-Fairfield County Red Cross executive director Janet Filling,
Westport Police Chief Al Fiore, Kim Fiore,
Westport Historical Society executive director Denise Torv, Westport
Historical Society President
Joni Andrews, and Westport Historical Society Vice-President Maggie
Fezcko.

Several revelers
attended in their WWII uniforms or in period costume to get into the
spirit of the evening. Pictured are (l to r) Anne Beers, "Rosie the
Riveter" Sally Rose, and Jean Plasan.

Also enjoying the
evening are Westporters Martha and Larry Aasen.

Getting into the 1940's spirit are (l to
r) Ben Samuel, Dan Samuel, Sasha Samuel, and Linda Greenberg.

Mollie and Jack Donovan
share a tender moment on the dancefloor.
