Yes, Ben Franklin Was Here!

Saturday February 11, 2006

Co-sponsored with the Fairfield Historical Society

The Westport and Fairfield Historical Societies jointly sponsored a bus tour to mark this year’s 300th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Franklin. The tour of areas in Westport and Fairfield covered places Franklin visited as deputy postmaster general as he measured the distances between post offices in New England. Town Historian and Westport Historical Society Co-President Allen Raymond was guide for the tour, the first in the group’s planned “Destination Westport” monthly events.

Guests gathered at the Westport Historical Society before the bus tour.
