Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff
cut the ribbon at the official dedication of the Emily McLaury House at 99
Myrtle Ave. He was aided by Barlow Cutler-Wotton, daughter of
Charles E. Cutler, architect who designed the house in the 1920s for his
wife’s cousin, Emily McLaury. Morley Boyd, chair of Westport’s
Historic District Commission, also worked to restore this historic
downtown house.
The house, which the Town of Westport has owned
since the 1970s, underwent a complete restoration under the guidance of the
Historic District Commission. It will be occupied by a town employee. See
