Dunbar Chaise by Edward Wormley 1957
The final event before the society’s present exhibit WESTPORT MODERN: WHEN COOL WAS HOT! closes on May 1, the lecture takes a facinating look at the evolution of paint colors, furniture and other related items from the 1930s to the 1960s. A sampling of furniture and accessories are on display. Her talk includes a look at the World War II influences on furniture design, the development of industrial design, as well as the contrasting influences of naturalism and organic architecture.
